Please explain what it felt like the first time that you used your own reusable tray? Did you feel nervous? What did the people around you think?

Farm King needs your help at Wednesday & Sunday Farmer’s Markets + Silver Lake Jubilee »
When I had used the yellow tray i felt so nervous but when a lunch lady asked me why do u have that? I had told them it was for our class that we where using these to not use styrofoam trays I am glad now that I am helping out the community. ^^
In my opinion, I felt very confident and fine when I first used my tray. I wasn’t afraid or nervous about carrying my yellow reusable tray to my cafeteria and putting my food on it. It seems very normal to me, although I stand out from the others who use styrofoam trays.
I really want to help out the economy.
It doesn’t actually help out the economy much but it does support the fact that we should stop polluting and dirtying the world more. The world is dirty enough! We should scrub all the dirtiness off the world and make everything clean once again!
Let’s all clean the world as a group!
Mr. Raymond why does it feel normal to carrying a plastic tray instead of a plain, boring, white tray?
Mr. Jason why do you have to ask these ridiculous questions?
When i first took my try out i felt nervous for standing out. I think it helped make me feel better when i was in a group. My friend, Jerimiah, called me lucky for having that. He said “Wow your so lucky i don’t want those dumb styrofoam trays.
Hey Justin nice explanation on the news it probably sent a strong signal around the world
It is very good that you don’t follow the old way when we used to use styrofoam trays
Thank you stepan W-^
I felt good the first time. It made me feel brave about myself which made me feel very stronge about using a plastic tray.
The first time I use a plastic tray everyone would say where did you get that plate or they would say we are getting new trays it felt weird being the only class that used plastic plates and most of our class would stay in small groups so they wouldn’t be the only one with a plastic tray.
Well not really, but it was a bit scary. When it was my first time i felt okay and normal but you got to get use to people staring at you alot. The scary part was people would ask you, i mean people you don’t know. Some would get mad because we are the only ones who have it. If you are one of them and is reading this you should know we are trying to get the whole school some by making fundraiser.
When I first got my yellow tray i really enjoyed it. But when it came to using it in public, it started to get a little weird. I heard everybody talking and saying where did you get that. It was a bit annoying. My friend was also using her tray and a person came up to her and said where did you get those trays, and what my friend said was i got this at the garden. In a polite way. I was so tired of using those styrofoam trays. I am really glad that Farm King is providing us with many great things.
To be clear,I think that as a student who recieved one of the trays I think that getting the plastic trays can actually change the school maybe even the whole state of california.I even hope our actions will reflect on the United states and hopefully the entire continent. At first though when I got my tray I thought no one would care about them but actually the whole school is talking about them.
Those yellow trays are really cool! The first time I used it, I was really nervous. On that same day I used my tray for the first time, about six people asked “Where did you get that? It’s so cool!”. I was really happy. Now, I’m not afraid to use it. To me that tray is really fun, but it also helps the environment, so that’s what makes the tray really awesome.
An eighth grader asked me last week where I got my tray. I told him it was from farm king as a reward for our hard work! He suggested that we do a benefit concert to raise money to buy enough trays for everybody in the whole school!!! He also said that he would LOVE to perform on it. I am really excited for our next meeting, and I can’t wait to use my Yellow tray tomorrow! 😀
it was fun to do the styrofoam tower but it was more of a responsibility to collect the trays during lunch. But now when we go outside people are always asking were did you get the yellow try? i say its only for my class utile until we can raise enough money for the entire school.
Why do you feel confident to be diffrent?
At first I felt nervous of what other people would think and now I don’t feel nervous because I have been walking around with my tray during lunch. I am not nervous because I am getting used to carrying my tray all over campus.
The first time i used the reusable tray was when i was walking to lunch many people were looking and telling me are they giving those out, but i said no we got them from farm king and then i brought my lunch into the class and mariska said that a boy named david said that if he could have a concert in school to donate money for we could have enough trays for the whole school: that is a good idea but there are many other things we could do we could have a car wash, walk dogs, or to trash pickup around our neighborhood.
The first time I used my tray it felt weird because everyone was looking at us and saying why did you bring your tray from home. I felt nervous because i thought people were going to laugh at me ,but people actually were saying where did you get those trays. It was funny because a girl in line that was next to her friend said’ hey were are getting new trays. Ha ha it was very funny.
The first time I got the reusable tray, I was so excited to have one! The feeling that you don’t have to use the Styrofoam Trays make you feel so proud of what you are doing. The first time I went to lunch, the feeling of having a yellow reusable try had dropped down into my feet. I was so worried about them thinking of me of a showoff having one. Then after days having it, I became so proud that I began answering questions about the reusable tray. Students kept on saying, “ How did you get that?” and them wanting to switch. I told them that it was an reward of what we did regarding the Styrofoam. Now, the whole class will try to make a fundraiser about buying trays for the whole school.
We can make a concert for the hip hop team to preform on stage and we may fundraise to buy yellow trays for the whole school. then we may spread the news to the whole LAUSD
I did not feel nervous like a sheep led to the shears, instead I felt confident with using the new plastic trays. It was a real treat using the trays because I knew it was for a good cause such as,not using styrofoam trays. Did I care if people saw me with the trays? No, I did not care, it was true that some people were eyeing me like a shark eyeing its prey but I held my ground. Using the tray was a fun and interesting experience.
It first felt weird but when i kept recycling it it didn’t feel that weird. My friends and i would always bring the styrofoam to the classroom. The styrofoam kept growing and growing and when we built the styrofoam tower i couldn’t believe that all of the styrofoam would make that big of a tower. It was very fun and i started to know more stuff about the world around me.
I did feel nervous but i had fun. I learned about the stuff that i didn’t even think about learning or that i have not known before.
I am Martin and I am 1 out of 36 students who made the styrofoam tower and eats lunch on a yellow reusable tray. Carrying this tray around feels weird. Everyone is looking at you like you are a crazy person. But when the school has enough money everyone will have plastic trays. We are going to get money through fundraising. I think using a plastic tray is a good idea because it helps the enviorment get better from it’s illness
When I first started to use the yellow trays I felt confident because my class were the only ones so far helping out. farm king.=)
The first time that i used the plastic tray, i felt kind of weird, because it was our first time using it and we were the only class using it and i felt that people would make fun of us.
I went with a group of classmates the first day, and it really helped me not get nervous about the trays! 😀 😀 😀 🙂 🙂 😀 🙂 🙂
I think I was one of them, and ya Mariska it was nervous and going with a group really helped us to not get nervous and even though we got so pushed in line it was worth it becuase we aren’t using those styrofoam!
We use the reusable tray to recycle. We want to reuse the trays so we don’t have to use the Styrofoam trays because once we use the Styrofoam trays we throw them away. Some recycling centers don’t even recycle Styrofoam because they become little bits. When we are using the reusable trays a lot of people are asking where we got one or how we get it. Even some teachers ask us what we use it for.
Some ideas we can do: car wash, also maybe if we have anything to sell we can have a garage sale and get that money and bring it t Brian. I have alot.
Also we can have lemonade, and any smoothies we can sell that and use that money. Hopefully that will help. we can even do all of that.:)
What about a fundraiser where we pick up plastic in the streets and on the floor and we bring that to the recycling center so we clean up our community while earning money.
That seems fun!! i’ve seen people do that.
Farm King is Amazing! What we learned and what we used to clean up the garden was really fun and helpful to the enviorment. It started of from just cleaning up the garden, to the idea of making a tower of styrofoam building! We found that idea from the burbank recycling center. The day we were working in the garden (last week) was surprising when the Kcal 9 news came a filmed us. We were on at 5:58 on tuesday. Channel 2. It felt good helping the enviorment. I have an idea for the fundraising. Make all the decorations made of all green stuff. The Farm is awesome and cool!!!
when i read about this comment he reminded me about the day we went to Burbank recycling center.
also that day that HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS came to our class to tell us that other animals that eat sea creatures but if they see something that looks like food they would go down and eat PLASTIC which is really bad. they showed us how much PLASTIC they eat. they eat a lot of PLASTIC just because WE THROW OUR TRASH INTO THE OCEAN!!!!!! WHICH IS REALLY BAD FOR ANY ANIMAL THAT EAT SEA CREATURES!!!!! there was one day that we had an assembly about Algaleta Research Center telling us about a group of people going on a BOAT MADE OUT OF PLASTIC!!!!!!!!! I was really amazed by that. they had went from United States all the way to Alaska. when they were in the ocean the caps from the bottles had came loose and the boat started to sink. but luckily they were saved. They capped the caps to bottles tight as much as they could. AWESOME/AMAZING!! ;D
The first time that I use the reusable tray was fun at first I felt a little bit nervous like what will everyone say about the trays or about me and my friend that were also using the trays. So the day after we got the tray I and some friends went to go eat and many people were asking why do we have them and some even said where can I get one. Many people were talking about it and even some teachers were also and asking some questions. Many people were raving about the trays and I felt good. Then or now it is a big deal at Thomas Starr King Middle School and we even got on the news!!!!
Yes I did very much feel nervous. At the same time I felt confident knowing that I am making a difference in the world. I hope that this school gets reusable trays. Everyone was asking “Where did you get those trays, I want one.” I was so glad to hear people at King say that. I told them if you think you can make a difference then you could have one.
We went to the recycling center we learned so much one of the most important things is that we learned is that everything cant be recycled. I want to make a difference in this world. How about you?
I felt uncomfortable using the trays the very first time we used them but then i got used to them and it was that weird using them the third time.I fell that it is good using the trays because they are reusable not like the styrofoam trays we just throw them away every day so i am glad we made other schools use those trays so
The first time I used my own tray, I felt shy to use it in front of my friends. Then my friends said that my tray was cool and I was so excited and i wasn’t shy no more. Once I went in line for lunch, I think other people thinks that our trays are cool.
I felt uncomfortable using the trays the very first time we used them but then i got used to them and it wasn’t that weird using them.I feel that it is good using the trays because they are reusable not like the styrofoam trays we just throw them away every day.
The first time I got my tray and went to lunch i felt very weird and nervous and thought people would laugh. It really didn’t turn out that way, it turned out that people really liked it and some really thought it was cool, some asked where to get them and some thought they were actually giving it away at lunch. I actually heard someone say that those yellow trays were better than using styrofoam and then I stopped and got surprised!
Wow, you guys! You are really making a difference at your school by using these trays! I am a teacher at another school, and I’m really impressed by what you’ve done. I would love for my students to do the same. Keep up the great work!
